My new challenge/experiment will be about... Sewing!
I like to sew and I even have a tiny Etsy shop, but since I started this new job I haven't sewn at all. The thing is, I feel like this job sucks most of my energy (and will power). Everything else now requires more conscious effort - like exercising, sewing, decluttering, etc.
So this challenge will be simple: I must work on a sewing project for at least 15 minutes each day. The exceptions will be those few days in which, for some valid reason, I can't really do it.
My first project will be to work on a very simple blouse I started last summer. It's really simple because it's the first piece of clothing that I try to do!
This time, instead of writing here everyday, I'll write only every other day.
See you on Thursday, then!

Even though February still has one more day, I will consider my decluttering challenge complete today. I don't know what else to declutter - I believe that's a sign that I'm done with this (for now).
Everything in my home is less cluttered and much more in order than it was before. Even though sometimes it was hard to declutter (yes, even for just 15 minutes - especially when I was feeling very tired), I'm happy I did this. I'm now at peace with each cabinet and drawer in my home. And with my digital folders!
I plan to do this regularly, in the future. It's amazing how much you can tackle in just 10-15 minutes. So this strategy is definitively a must keep.
Tomorrow I'll reveal my next challenge/experiment.
See you then!

I've already cleared more than 150 GB in my external disk. Yay!
February is coming to an end, and I haven't decided what my next experiment will be... I have several ideas - I'll let you know which one I'll chose until the end of this month.

To anyone who may be reading this: I'm sorry, this blog has likely been terribly boring this month. Since I'm using it mainly as a way to (briefly) journal my experience this year, I haven't been very careful with creating engaging posts. I hope you understand my main goal here... Doing this in a blog format helps to motivate me - I feel like someone is 'watching', so I must be good and persist on my experiments! And, of course, maybe someone may find some inspiration in what I'm doing - which is also a nice motivator.
Anyway, this has been another day of digital decluttering. But I may be reaching the limit to what I can delete from my ancient laptop. Which means that I'll be soon tackling my external disk.

Today I reached 50 GB of free space. Yay!
And I started using an app called TinyScanner to easily scan documents that I can keep only in digital format. Of course, this will add to my digital stuff - but it will also alleviate my documents folder.

Today I continued decluttering my laptop content. I found some treasures - like old videos I had forgotten existed...
I managed to clear a lot of space, so I'm on the right track.
Feb 16, 2017
The decluttering of my physical space is finished (for now). So today I started tackling my digital clutter. My laptop is very old (almost eight years old!) and I have years of folders with 'stuff' that I probably don't need anymore. I also want to clear some space because the disk is almost full!
See you tomorrow.

Today I finished decluttering the kitchen. I didn't have much to declutter there, so I was fast. I know I said I would show a before and after picture, but I don't have anything really impressive to show... Instead, I'll leave you with a picture of my faithful decluttering companion:

Today I started decluttering the kitchen. I started with a cabinet full of bags - bags, bags, bags! I'll show you the before and after pictures when I'm done with it.
Anyway... Today I realized that I don't have much more to declutter in the house (we must keep in mind that I moved here only six months ago). Which means that I should soon tackle my digital clutter - and that, I believe, should take a while.

I've already gone through all my clothes and selected a few to donate. I thought I had more to purge but realized that after so much decluttering in the past I'm now using almost everything that I own! Is it weird to be excited about an 'achievement' that should probably be the normal in any wardrobe?
Here is my bag of things to go:

Today I tackled two drawers. But, I must confess, I organized more than I decluttered, since most of the things are things that I actually need.
I'm almost done with the office now. Next will be my wardrobe. Yay!
See you tomorrow :)

I finally finished purging my personal documents binder. It was difficult, because at this point (after many years of using this system) there are many documents that I can't throw away - which means that maybe in the future I'll have to use a second binder. But for now, it still has some margin for additional documents:

I'm still purging my (very simple) filing system. I should be finished tomorrow.
I'm going slow on this challenge, but that's OK. I plan to continue with a decluttering routine after the end of the month.
See you tomorrow!
Feb 6, 2017
Today I started decluttering my personal documents filing system. This is a super simple system: a 2 ring binder! My goal is to keep just one binder - which means that when it gets full something needs to get out. Since it was really full, I couldn't finish this task today. I'll continue tomorrow and when I'm finished I'll share the before and after pictures.
See you tomorrow!

Today I tackled another box with fabrics and old clothes (that I kept so that one day I could reuse their fabric). Besides some scraps for recycling, I put aside a blouse and skirt which are still in good condition to donate.
Today I don't have a picture, though!
In the office closet there's a bag full of fabrics. I tried to purge it, but in the end I could only get rid of some scraps for recycling (I'm very attached to my fabrics!):
By the way - Mia is loving this challenge ;P
